De Rigo Rem Helps Give The Gift of Sight

Earlier this spring De Rigo Rem’s President and CEO was presented with a very special gift on behalf of the charity Consultorio Visual, two panels with a stunning mural with words of gratitude. De Rigo Rem has been a committed partner in providing eyewear to this incredible charity located in Mexico City. Dr. Alejandro Urqueieta has worked tirelessly to support giving the gift of sight to the most vulnerable and those most in need in Mexico. Earlier this spring Dr. Urquieta and his son Alex Jr. visited the De Rigo Rem offices in Los Angles and presented with the panels you’ll see below.

The two gorgeous panels were created with a unique and beautiful design, but the most profound portion of these panels is the gifted frames represented on them, along with a message of gratitude to De Rigo Rem for the donation of the frame that provides the gift of sight. Each frame on the frame represents a donated frame that changed the life of the recipient and gave the gift of sight.

These two panels are dotted with pictures of donated frames and notes of gratitude from recipients.

For over twenty years the Urquieta family has been the liaison between De Rigo Rem, and previously Rem Optical, and the Mexican Charity, Consultorio Visual, working in coordination with Grupo Atíla IAP another charity that provides eyewear in Mexico for those in need. Consultorio Visual approaches the work they do in saying, “At Consultoro Visual IPN we also have a social responsibility to approach and commit ourselves to those who are in vulnerable conditions. Over the years in our company, we have contributed to institutions that dedicate their efforts to helping people and assisting them to improve their quality of life by performing visual exams and providing frame and prescription lenses to those who not can afford them,” Dr. Alejandro Urquieta.

Consultorio Visual, which also partners with the charity Grupo Altía, support those with the greatest needs by providing eyewear and exams. De Rigo Rem’s frames are donated through Consultorio Visual to Grupo Altía located in Tepexpan, State in Mexico. The charity then disperses the frames to those in need.

Dr. Urquieta, Alessandro Baronti, Alex Urquieta Jr. pose for a picture as De Rigo Rem is presented with a book of letters from recipients of De Rigo Rem frames that were donated last spring.

Over the past few years, tokens of appreciation for De Rigo Rem’s continued support have been presented by Dr. Alejandro Urquieta and his son Alex in gratitude for our continued support. Over the past few years, numerous letters and notes of gratitude from recipients of De Rigo Rem frames have been presented to De Rigo Rem. In the picture above Alessandro Baronti, CEO & President was presented with a book of handwritten letters from recipients young and old. The picture below shows some of the art from the children who have sent notes of gratitude, thanking De Rigo Rem for their donated frames. The book pictured above is an incredibly special gift that features a wooden carved cover that is a true work of art, but what is most touching about this gift are the pictures drawn by children whose lives have been changed by the gift of a frame.

Over the years, De Rigo Rem has had the honor of being gifted multiple tokens of gratitude from Consultorio Visual. While every gift presented to the company is incredibly special, perhaps one of the most treasured is a beautiful hand-painted box filled with handwritten letters from those who received frames through Consultorio Visual from De Rigo Rem. (See below)

“We make a difference in the lives of people every day at De Rigo Rem, it is this fact that spurs me on. However, when I see a hand-drawn picture from a child who is seeing for the first time through the assistance of Dr. Urquieta, and I know that they’re wearing a De Rigo Rem frame that we’ve donated, it impacts me deeply. We are helping give more than the gift of sight, we are giving a happy and productive future to these individuals, and that warms my heart.”

When you visit the De Rigo Rem offices in Los Angeles, you’ll find a hallway, that is lined on both sides, displaying the artwork and gifts from the recipients of De Rigo Rem frames. The shelves lining this hallway are brimming with framed letters of appreciation from local, national, and international charities. But if you ever have the opportunity to get a personal tour from CEO Alessandro Baronti, he is always sure to highlight the handwritten letters from those impacted through Consultorio Visual. To Alessandro and the staff at De Rigo Rem, these letters and pictures remind us all that the work we do, enables us to give generously to those less fortunate.
